New “remotes control” at CCBN 2009

Wyplay and China Digital TV demonstrated new kind of pointing devices to deal with the increasing number of features on TV.

Wyplay’s Natuitive device and interface is inspired by Apple’s Iphone and China Digital TV’one by the Wii.

Wyplay's Natuitive

Wyplay showcased its NatUitive new “Natural & Intuitive” user interface (UI) and sensitive
remote control for its WMS Media Center Software Platform. NatUitive changesthe way people will
control and enjoy their TV, play their Media content, and access Web services directly from their TV.

By eliminating the need for users to frequently glance back and forth from remote to TV screen, NatUitive
offers a greatly improved level of comfort. The functions are an integral part of the UI and presented as onscreen
virtual buttons and areas. This is particularly powerful in providing key functions with easy on‐screen
actions, even in low ambient light.
NatUitiveTM has been created to simplify multimedia use on TV. Instead of many buttons, or buttons with too
many functions, NatUitiveTM abandons physical buttons and presents a unique click approach. NatUitiveTM only
displays pertinent functions in each universe; for example, among others, Channel up/down while in the TV
universe and Rotate/Slideshow in Photo universe.

The Company demonstrated the NSM 6008 “air mouse.” The NSM 6008 provides precision three-dimensional positioning and employs “air mouse” and “air multiple points” input methods which substantially improve the user interface and are applicable to various peripheral applications including remote control and gaming console. As you can see above, it can take any shape, even clown fish (which was the theme of the game).
